How to pay by M-Pesa

  1. Open the M-Pesa menu on your phone (or Safaricom app).
  2. Select Lipa na M-Pesa, then Pay Bill.
  3. Enter Business Number: 123456
  4. Enter Account Number: your loan number (e.g. MF-2024-04821).
  5. Enter the amount you want to pay.
  6. Enter your M-Pesa PIN and confirm.
  7. You'll receive a confirmation SMS from M-Pesa within seconds. Your balance updates automatically — no need to call us.
Tip Save the paybill on your M-Pesa as Mobifarm. You won't have to type the number again for any future payment.

Pay by USSD — no data needed

If you don't have data, dial *123# from the phone number registered on your loan. Follow the menu:

  1. Select Pay loan.
  2. Confirm your loan number (auto-detected).
  3. Enter the amount.
  4. Enter your M-Pesa PIN.
  5. Done. You'll get an SMS confirmation.

Pay in person

You can also pay at any Mobifarm partner dealer or at our head office at Runda Shopping Center, Suite 008. Bring cash or M-Pesa — a receipt is issued on the spot, and the payment shows in your balance within the hour.

If you miss a payment

A missed payment is not an emergency, and it's not a repossession. Here's what actually happens:

  1. Within 48 hours of your missed due date, your officer will call you. They'll ask what's going on.
  2. If you're going through something real — illness, a breakdown, a family emergency — we can restructure the schedule. This is a normal conversation, not a penalty conversation.
  3. If you just forgot or your M-Pesa line had an issue, we'll confirm the payment once it lands.
  4. Persistent missed payments with no contact can eventually lead to repossession — but only after multiple attempts to reach you and, where possible, a formal demand letter. It's a last step.

Frequently asked

Can I pay more than my scheduled amount?

Yes. Extra payment goes directly against your outstanding principal, which shortens your loan and reduces total interest. No penalty, no forms.

Can I pay off the whole loan early?

Yes, any time. Message your officer for a settlement figure — it will be the outstanding principal plus interest accrued to the settlement day. Once paid, your logbook transfers within seven days.

I'm paying from a different M-Pesa line. Will it post correctly?

Yes, as long as you use your loan number as the account reference. The line you pay from doesn't matter. If you've permanently switched M-Pesa numbers, let your officer know so we can update your records.

I paid but my balance hasn't updated. What should I do?

In 99% of cases, payments reconcile within minutes. If 24 hours have passed and your balance still looks wrong, message your officer on WhatsApp with a screenshot of your M-Pesa confirmation. We'll find it manually and post it the same day.
